The Master’s degree in Film and Television Cultures focuses on the dynamics within the media landscape. Historical and contemporary transformations of film and television are situated in the context of new technologies and media-cultural developments. You will be gaining knowledge of processes within the media industry and media-cultural institutions, engaging with changes in the film and television landscape, and gaining insight into the media studies debate surrounding these developments.In the Master’s programme in Film and Television Cultures, you will use theoretical concepts to identify both historical and contemporary media phenomena. You will deepen your research skills and make acquired knowledge accessible to both academic and non-academic audiences. You will carry out media studies research on issues relating to film and/or television within a dynamic media landscape, as well as professional practice-oriented research during an internship at a media-related institution.The Master’s in Film and Television Cultures focuses on the development of skills and knowledge relevant to the field and professional practice. The programme will also provide an overview of the various types of professional practice within the film and television industry by way of panels with guest speakers and excursions. Moreover, students will gain intimate knowledge of the field by way of an internship at cultural institutions or media organisations.
