Mittweida
About the City
Our city has many sights to offer. Examples of this are the Mittweida city church, Our Dear Women, the museum Alte Pfarrhäuser, and the Johannes-Schilling-Haus. The Roch’sche Haus in Kapellengasse, the Bürgerhaus Weberstrasse 1, the historic market square with the post mile column and the Friedensbrunnen are also places of interest. But also, remnants of the former city wall, the water tower, and many other city buildings and squares reflect a centuries-old city history. You will discover cultural and historical treasures everywhere in the natural beauty.
The venerable town church “Our dear Women” is visible from afar, a late Gothic architectural monument with the rich mannerist carved altar from 1661 and the sandstone pulpit. The church tower has a baroque dome.
