Möckern
About the City
With the formation of the unified community Stadt Möckern, the town of Möckern also became a district and a locality of the unified community. In the middle of Germany, so to speak, between Magdeburg and Berlin, Möckern lies in the Jerichower Land. To the west, extensive arable land with rows of trees and bushes interspersed extends to the banks of the Elbe in front of the state capital of Magdeburg. In the east, huge forest areas of the Möckern-Magdeburgerforth nature reserve, which belongs to Fläming, begin directly at the last Möckern houses.
As a basic center, Möckern offers the people in the area all administrative and shopping options; medical care; education for children; sports facilities; a town hall; care for the elderly; and the Möckern forest pool. The wonderful scenic location, the good traffic conditions, the developed infrastructure of hotels and restaurants, and the development of wonderfully situated residential areas make Möckern an ideal place to live and travel.
