Forssa
About the City
Forssa is a charming small town in Hämäläinen, which is just over an hour’s drive from Finland’s largest cities. Forssa is a lively center of trade and services in the region, where there is plenty for tourists to see and experience. The cityscape is colored by lush parks and old factory areas. Forssa is honored to be one of Finland’s ten national city parks. The city’s unique history is strongest in the idyllic Spinning Mill area, which houses museums and exhibition spaces showcasing the city’s history as well as tradition.
The former cotton warehouse houses the Forssa Museum, whose main exhibition tells the story of the factory village and the surrounding countryside from the 19th century to the 1970s.
