Lille
About the City
Once an industrial hub, Lille has since become a young and dynamic academic and cultural capital of Northern France. With over 110,000 students, the metropolitan area of Lille is one of France’s top student cities. Its situation near the border of Belgium and being part of a high-speed rail network make Lille a great place from which to explore other parts of France and Europe.
Paris is an hour away, Brussels is only half an hour away, and you can be in London in just 90 minutes. It is the third largest student city in France and is rated highly for its quality of life. The city features one of the most modern public transportation systems in France, but it is also easy to walk around. The weather here is moderate with mild summers and cool winters, but with such great transportation systems, you can be somewhere warmer in no time.
