Profile
This English-taught master’s programme builds on knowledge relating to the diversity and creativity in languages, literatures, arts, and media in Africa. The interdisciplinary orientation and subject combinations make the programme one-of-a-kind. In addition to learning two African languages, modules cover theory, methods, and specialized areas. Students choose among Bambara, Hausa, Swahili, or Xhosa, thus providing a foundation for academic and communicative practice. Furthermore, theory, methods, and topical areas of emphasis enable students to investigate current, research-relevant issues relating to the Humanities and Cultural studies in Africa.
