Profile
Materials and Nanochemistry focuses on materials where nano refers to the almost atomic precision for the creation and analysis of innovative materials in order to understand and develop their remarkable properties. It offers a mixed track of experimental and theoretical chemistry, with a focus on catalysis, optical materials, innovative coatings, structural analysis and spectroscopy in a context of sustainable development. All of this prepares you for a career as an innovation and sustainability-driven chemist for the broad materials industry (from windmill blades to solar cells and smartphone screens) and the chemical manufacturing industry. You spend half the time on project-based education. Already in the first year of the master’s program you will start with your master dissertation. The Master in Chemistry ends with a full semester internship, which you can complete within a company or in a foreign research laboratory.
