Profile
Branch covers a wide range of energy issues. It introduces students to energy policy and presents it as one of the pillars of electricity and heat production in the Czech Republic. Will enable them to assess the choice of technology used in new energy sources according to criteria for maximum energy efficiency and minimum emissions. Contributes to the improvement of the cooperation of Energy Department and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with various institutions and workplaces in the Czech Republic and abroad, which is aimed at achieving a high level of expertise and modern equipment for research. The basic, mandatory program of study, students deepen their knowledge of the theory of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and mass transfer and combustion, and further acquaintance with the construction and operation of the basic units of power equipment such as boilers, turbines, compressors, power stations, internal combustion engines and acquires of water management in energy, air and traffic control, diagnostics and maintenance in power. Select from the compulsory optional courses focusing on one of the four specializations. For Thermal power equipment and industrial power elect heat, nuclear power plants or the use of secondary sources of energy, for the specialization Alternative energy and environmental technology then the ventilation and air conditioning, alternative and renewable energy sources and energy use of biomass and waste. The third specialization “Construction of steam boilers and heating equipment”, preparing specialists in the field of thermal calculations, design and construction of steam boilers, and is characterized by objects: a steam boiler II, materials and strength design of boiler parts and design methodology in the field. Fourth specialization “Nuclear power equipments” preparing specialists in thermal and hydraulic calculations, design and construction of nuclear power plant components and is characterized by subjects: chemistry in nuclear energetic, nuclear power equipments, manufacturing technology of nuclear components, nuclear power machinery and applied mechanics in nuclear energetic. Graduates get good jobs, and practical application, whether it is focused on the design, operation and management.
