This English-language master’s programme provides an up-to-date education in physics, with close links to research and industry, and offers a wide range of options for specialisation, for example in nano- and quantum materials, laser spectroscopy, or computer simulations from basic research to targeted materials development.In the master’s programme you will extend your problem-solving skills in mathematical physics, and will investigate research questions and practical applications. Depending on your area of specialisation you might study the development of new types of functional structures and materials, investigate physical processes at atomic scales of length and time, or work on computer simulations.As a physicist you will be a universal problem-solver for innovation sectors and will be able to work in science, commerce and industry, either in Austria or abroad. There are also career options in higher education and research institutions, data processing, electronics and electrical engineering, precision mechanics and optics, mechanical and automotive engineering, the healthcare sector, and the public and services sectors.
