Profile
Soar to new heights with the University of Salford’s BEng (Hons) in Aircraft Engineering with Pilot Studies. This unique three-year, full-time program equips you with the technical knowledge and practical skills to excel in the fascinating world of aviation.
Become a Dual-Threat in Aviation: This program combines a comprehensive understanding of aircraft engineering principles with the theoretical knowledge and practical flying experience required to become a pilot.
Engineering Expertise: Gain a strong foundation in aircraft design, aerodynamics, flight mechanics, propulsion systems, aircraft structures, and materials science. Learn to analyze aircraft performance, solve complex engineering problems, and contribute to the development of next-generation aircraft.
Pilot Training Foundation: The program integrates flight simulator training and ground school classes, introducing you to the fundamentals of aircraft operation, navigation, and piloting techniques. This paves the way for further flight training to obtain a pilot’s license after graduation (additional costs and qualifications may apply).
Integrated Learning: The program seamlessly blends theoretical knowledge with practical application. Engineering coursework informs your understanding of flight principles, while flight simulator training reinforces engineering concepts.
Professional Preparation: Gain the technical expertise and industry knowledge sought by employers in the aerospace and aviation sectors. The program incorporates employability skills workshops and career guidance to prepare you for a successful career in aircraft design, maintenance, operations, or piloting (further flight training required).
This program is ideal for students with a dual passion for engineering and aviation who aspire to careers in:
- Aircraft design and development
- Aerospace engineering
- Aircraft maintenance and operations (further qualifications required)
- Airline pilot training (further flight training required)
- Aviation research and development
