BSc Business and Management (TU903) is the largest undergraduate Level 8 business degree in the College of Business, TU Dublin City Campus. The first two years are designed to provide a solid foundation in the fundamental disciplines of business – accounting, economics, quantitative methods, management, marketing, human resources, and operations. This approach allows students to get a taste of the different aspects of business in the first half of their degree. Using the core knowledge acquired in the first two years of study, in Years 3 and 4 students can choose from a wide range of optional advanced modules, allowing them to specialize in one of the major business disciplines.BSc Business and Management (TU903) is recognized by the professional accounting bodies-Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and exemptions are available from these bodies for graduates who pursue the specialist accounting stream.
While BSc Business and Management (TU903) is the largest business degree in TU Dublin, lectures and tutorials are delivered in small class sizes to facilitate greater interaction and active learning. A diverse range of teaching approaches are adopted, including formal lectures with tutorial support, business case study analysis, debates, role play, industry project work, charity events, simulation exercises, networking events, and in-company internships. Of particular note is the opportunity for students to take part in both national and international business strategy case study competitions in the final year of the program.
In Year 3 all students on BSc Business and Management (TU903) have the opportunity to either study abroad for the entire year in one of our more than 50 partner universities around the world, or to complete a 16–20-week paid work placement. Placement partners include leading companies in all key business sectors, including accounting, financial services, pharmaceuticals, retail, information, and communications technologies, and consultancy.
The BSc Business and Management (TU903) is designed to equip graduates for an increasingly diverse and changing economy and as such the content and structure of the program evolve in response to new developments in business and management practice. In addition to taking advantage of immediate employment opportunities, graduates are equipped to proceed to postgraduate studies leading to the award of MSc, MPhil, or Ph.D. at research institutes and universities worldwide.
Notes
A charge of €3,000 is payable by each student to cover essential student services. European Union nationals attending full-time undergraduate courses are normally only required to pay the student contribution, otherwise EU nationals who are following a second or subsequent third-level course, depending on the type and duration of the previous course attended will be liable for the total annual fees. Application deadline for EU students is February 1.
Admissions Requirements
High School Diploma with CGPA of 2.4/4 plus successful completion of TU Dublin Foundation or another recognised pre-university foundation with relevant subjects 60% - 65% or High School Diploma with CGPA of 3.0/4 plus SAT score of 1090/1600 [Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 560, Math 530] OR ACT score of 21.There is an option to enter with successful completion of one year of a Bachelors Degree/Associate Degree with overall average of 2.8 GPA or above with relevant subjects at a recognised third-level or higher education institution in addition to completion of senior high school. This assessment will be on a case-by-case basis.
