Profile
During the Language and Media specialisation, you learn in an international setting that good communication is about more than just correct spelling and careful language use.
In the Language and Media specialisation of the Bachelor’s in Communication and Information Studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, you explore the fields of Communication Studies, applied linguistics, media analysis, interaction and intercultural communication. Together with international students, you look at the international context of topical issues and look for solutions to contemporary problems.
The world is becoming increasingly ‘global’ and communication occurs more and more often in an international context. This involves not only different languages, but also different cultures. Various courses in the programme therefore focus on the role of English as a lingua franca in international communication.
Notes
Application deadline for EU students is May 1.
Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements may in some cases be asked to sit (an) entry exam(s) to prove they are eligible for admission.
