This four-year honors degree aims to produce graduate software developers who will be prepared to enter a career in software engineering across a wide range of areas. The course provides a solid foundation in software development for web and mobile systems; core enterprise software development; testing; and interaction design; and provides a solid foundation in computer security and data analysis. Students will specialize in the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software systems, with particular emphasis on the application of agile development approaches. Students will also acquire the fundamentals of a broad range of computing topics; networking, procedural and object-orient programming, testing, computer security, data analysis and visualization, and IoT, and will have the option of selecting specialist modules such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile development, smart technologies, and immersive technologies.
Notes
The government will pay the Tuition Fee for most first-time, full-time EU Undergraduates as part of the Free Fees Initiative. All students are liable for the Student Contribution fee: €3,000.
Students should apply through the CAO system. Normal closing date is 01 February. Late Applications are those which are received in the CAO after 1st February. The latest date for receipt in the CAO of such application forms is 1st May. The CAO system allows changes to be made to applications up to 5.15 pm 1st July.
