Profile
This program has been developed in response to the highlighted shortages of skilled ICT graduates locally, nationally, and internationally. The IT industry is moving towards a model that integrates development and operations into a single process. This approach enhances the speed, quality, and cost of modern projects, but requires a broad combination of skills. Such an approach demands an in-depth understanding of design and development combined with a comprehension of the computing systems on which applications are deployed and professional knowledge of tools and processes required to manage the modern application delivery process through all its stages. The program takes an integrative approach, focusing on first building strong foundational knowledge and competencies in programming, system administration, networking, and operations, alongside an introduction to the tools, processes, and mindset of DevOps. The program aims to provide graduates with a broad range of skills necessary to deliver operational excellence in the modern IT environment, with continuous integration, automated testing, and a continuous delivery approach to development, deployment, and delivery embedded from the outset. Core skills in delivery, operations, architecture, and development, encompassing an introduction to DevOps, SysOps, and modern Cloud and Microservices architectures are combined with a solid grounding in development and infrastructure principles.
