Profile
Our study program combines practical skills, honed in our workshops, with theoretical background and tools of social sciences and humanities. Our goal is to shape designers of the future, creative thinkers, imaginative pragmatists, responsible designers, who, from the very beginning, will start searching for novel solutions to create a better world.
During the first year of study, all students follow the same curriculum, regardless of their choice of specialization that happens at the end of the first year. You will learn the basics of 2D and 3D design. In our state-of-the-art workshops, you will acquire basic manufacturing techniques, and learn how to use different tools and specialized equipment.
The Communication Design specialization combines traditional imaging and design with the latest technologies and moving images. However, tools are supposed to inspire communication designers, who consciously and responsibly develop effective messages. You must understand the people with whom you communicate and you must know what you want to convey. What you do, as a communication designer, will influence someone’s choices, decisions and experience.
How do people sleep, eat, and rest? Why do they surround themselves with certain objects? Product Design specialization is not only about aesthetics, but also about the knowledge of materials, tools, and processes, throughout their whole lifecycles, on the one hand, and on the other hand about understanding of basic behaviors as well as environmental and cultural contexts. It is an activity geared towards problem solving paralleled with thinking about individuals, communities, the natural environment and the future.
