English Language for Education

Do you want to deepen your knowledge of English? Do you want to pass it on in a meaningful way? Have you always wanted to teach English at primary or secondary school? Does being a teaching assistant interest you? Or would you like to teach at a language school? Then the best path for you is to start studying for a Bachelor’s degree in our English Language for Education degree programme. At our department you will learn everything an English teacher needs to know: something about English itself, something about the literature, history and culture of English-speaking countries, but above all how to pass it on to future students in a modern, creative and effective way.

A future teacher or teacher assistant logically cannot be satisfied with just hearing about English teaching in lectures and seminars. In addition to the theory, the practical dimension is also essential in the preparation of future English teachers. That is why all of our students have to go through reflected teaching practice in primary schools under the guidance of English teachers. We cooperate with selected faculty schools in Brno and the surrounding area. During this teaching practice, an experienced English teacher lets you take a look at their own lessons and thus gives you a glimpse of what you will not find in textbooks.
