The study program prepares the higly educated expertts in geospatial technologies and geovisualization with broad knowledge and abilities of GIS and other geotechnologies. They can apply their knowledge and skill in solving real spatial problems in various job positions.
Regarding to the bachelor thesis, the student is led by his/her tutor and other department staff and cooperating external institutions individually to a deeper study of the issue to elaborate assigned tasks in terms of methodology, critical study and use of scientific literature, to verify partial and final results and implement it into the practice.
The graduate can realise operative, documentation and development activities, including solving common spatial tasks using geoinformation technologies. Students will acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and skills of particular geoinformatic and cartographic disciplines and will become familiar with the most widespread modern software products in the studied fields (geoinformatics, statistics, cartography, remote sensing, programming, etc.), topics (geometry, numerical methods, descriptive statistics), theoretical foundations of computer science, programming and programming paradigms, web technologies, database and information systems.
Admissions Requirements
High school diploma. The entrance examination is in the range of the secondary school curriculum in geography. It examines knowledge of geography and the quality of written performance through open questions in the written test.
