Pursue your passion for aviation and business simultaneously with Munster Technological University’s innovative Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Global Business and Pilot Studies. This groundbreaking program integrates commercial flight training with a business degree, allowing you to:
- Earn a recognized Frozen Airline Transport Pilot License (fATPL), qualifying you for First Officer positions with airlines.
- Gain a Bachelor of Science degree in Global Business, equipping you with the business acumen and management skills necessary for success in the aviation industry or any other business field.
The business curriculum covers essential areas like:
- Accounting

- Marketing

- Logistics
You’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of business operations and decision-making, preparing you for various career paths within the aviation industry or beyond.
The flight training component provides rigorous instruction in:
- Aircraft principles and systems

You’ll gain the theoretical knowledge and practical flying skills necessary to become a safe and competent pilot.
The program follows a blended learning approach, combining academic coursework on campus with flight training at the Atlantic Flight Training Academy (AFTA), MTU’s trusted partner.
- Year 1: Focus on core business courses at MTU.
- Year 2: Begin flight training at AFTA alongside business courses.
- Year 3 & 4: Primarily focus on flight training while completing final business courses online.
This program is ideal for highly motivated students with a strong interest in both aviation and business. Graduates can pursue careers as commercial airline pilots, corporate pilots, flight instructors, or leverage their business degree in other aviation-related fields.
Notes
The Student Contribution Charge for EU students is €3,000. EU tuition may be covered by the Free Fees Initiative. EU-Nationals, who are repeating a full year of study, must pay tuition fees.
Years 2 & 3: €82,500 payable to AFTA, plus €357 to MTU. Year 4: €3,500 payable to MTU. Applicants must successfully complete an assessment by our approved training organization partner, Atlantic Flight Training Academy. This may involve a simulator assessment, an interview and a medical assessment. Year 4 is done part time online!
Application deadline for EU students is February 1.
Admissions Requirements
High School Diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 and ACT with a minimum score of 23 or SATS with a minimum score 1140. It is required from applicants to have completed 4 years of English, at least 3 years of Math (4 years recommended) at least 2 years of History/Social Science and a language and at least 2 years of a laboratory science subject (4 years recommended). Specific subjects may be required for entry into certain courses.
