Profile
The Liberal Education program is part of each and every major at Deree and is required of all students. Generally, students begin their studies at Deree by enrolling in Liberal Education courses as well as a few major courses. Launched in the fall of 2008, the Visual Arts major offers a rigorous academic program that is fluid and dynamic, reflecting the contemporary and evolving nature of the discipline, which focuses on research and practice of the creative process and on art-making itself. The Visual Arts program prepares students to participate in the diverse practices and inquiries in the field of contemporary art; promotes the exchange of ideas between disciplines, and supports mobility and ongoing interaction between contemporary artists, faculty, and art students.
