Profile
The International Business Administration Department offers a Management Major that equips students with fundamental skills and knowledge in the management of global organizations, both for-profit businesses as well as not-for-profit organizations. It exposes students to various aspects of managing resources, time, and personnel while providing students with an appreciation of the role of organizations in society and an understanding of how legal, economic, and political developments impact organizations. Management students follow one of the four proposed tracks. The General Management track has a generalist approach and allows the student to work with his or her academic advisor to constructing a major in conjunction with personal interests and career aspirations. The NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) Management and Global Business Strategy and Leadership tracks are offered in collaboration with the Department of International and Comparative Politics and offer students the possibility of an interdisciplinary track focused on the management of international non-profits and businesses respectively. The Art and Creativity track, proposed in conjunction with the Department of Art History and Fine Arts, enables students with a business background to study the professional world of art management and art history students to gain knowledge of business concepts and practices in order to work in the developing field of creativity management and, more specifically, art management.
