The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Manufacturing Engineering Design at the Atlantic Technological University (Galway) is a three-year, industry-focused program that prepares students for careers in designing, implementing, and managing efficient manufacturing processes. Graduates will be equipped to support local, national, and international manufacturing and service industries.
The program emphasizes hands-on learning through weekly lab classes, workshop practice, individual and group projects, and company-based work experience.
Students gain a strong foundation in core engineering principles along with specialized skills in computer-aided design (CAD), computer numerical control (CNC) machining, and other relevant software and technologies.
Graduates are prepared for diverse careers in manufacturing engineering, including design engineering, production engineering, process engineering, and quality control.
Notes
Tuition Fee – the Department of Education pays tuition fees for all full-time students who are citizens of a Member State of the EU and who meet the residency requirements. Most full-time undergraduate students will be covered by the Free Fees Initiative scheme for their tuition fee. Students from Northern Ireland or Great Britain do not have to pay tuition fees to study in the Republic of Ireland. All students are liable for the Student Contribution fee: €3,000.
Admissions Requirements
High School Diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0 plus: SAT score of 1000+ (1800 prior to 2016) or ACT composite score of 22 and above or 2-3 Advanced Placement Examinations in relevant subjects with grades 3 and above OR 2-3 SAT subject tests in relevant subjects with a minimum score of 600 in each.
