The aim of the course is to provide graduates with both the scientific basis of the disciplines in question, and the ability to use the techniques, systems, and instruments on board.Graduates will gain knowledge of the national and international ship owning context through internship activities and partnerships to be carried out over the training program. The University has already partnership with important players such as V-Ship and Carnival.The main objective of the Degree Course is to train technicians at the management level of the vessel and to play a technical role in companies in the maritime sector as envisaged by STCW international code. The STCW is an international convention that defines the minimum standards of competence of the professional figures in the maritime sector. In Italy, this convention was implemented by the Ministry of Transport through a law and several decrees.Two curricula are considered covered by the proposed degree: one oriented to the management of the ship (deck officer) and the other oriented to the management of on-board systems (engineer or technical role).
